ENGLISH PREPARATORY PROGRAM PLACEMENT TEST
The Placement Exam (DBS) will be held for students enrolled in our university's 30% and 100% English programs in the 2024-2025 academic year, and for students who will optionally receive English preparatory education.
Except for the students who enroll in our university's programs whose language of instruction is 30% and 100% in English in the 2024-2025 academic year, and those who will take optional English preparatory education in the 2024-2025 academic year, no one will be admitted to the exam hall even if they have registered for this exam.

EXAM SCHEDULE
The exam will take place in three stages on Monday, September 23 (30% Programs) and Tuesday, September 24 (100% Programs) Basic exam (written exam) and writing exam (speaking) exam. Click for Exam Sample.

Written Exam : 09:30-11:30
Speaking Exam: 13:00-15:00 (Only students who have passed the A1 level will take the speaking exam).

IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS
Exam rooms will be announced on Friday, September 20, 2024 at https://prep.fsm.edu.tr and on the board at the campus entrance. Our students must come to Halic Campus at least 15 minutes before the start time of the exams, check the exam places on the board at the entrance of the campus and be ready in the exam halls.
Identity checks will be made prior to all parts of the exam. Students who do not present their student ID will not be accepted for the exam. (Students who could not obtain their student ID should take the printout of their student documents via the e-government application or the FSMVÜ automation system, and also come to the exam hall with their identity cards.)
Only pencils can be used in the exams and the use of ballpoint pens or needlepoint pens is prohibited. Our students are required to come to the exam hall with pencils, erasers and sharpeners.
In order for students to be placed in their education level in a healthy way, they must take all parts of the exam. Students who do not take any part of the exam may be placed directly in the Elementary English preparatory class. (For example: If the Written Exam is entered but not the Speaking Exam)
Students who score below 65 in DBS will be placed in English preparatory classes according to their level. Students who are successful with a score of 65 and above in DBS will be announced on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at https://prep.fsm.edu.tr. If successful students want to be exempted from English preparatory education and start their undergraduate programs directly, they can take the FSMEPT, which will be held on September 25, 2024 at Halic Campus, without pre-registration.
Students who have failed DBS, and students who have passed the DBS but did not take the FSMEPT or who have entered the FSMEPT and did not get a score of 65 or above, enrolled in the 30% English program, and students who did not get a score of 75 or above, enrolled in the 100% English program Students are placed in English preparatory classes according to their level in line with their DBS scores. Students can learn their classes and levels on 30 September 2023 from https://prep.fsm.edu.tr and/or the automation system.
