Dear students, classes in English Preparatory Program (EPP) will start at Küçük Çamlıca Campus on Sep 16, Monday at 09:00.  Class lists of Module I will be announced before classes start on our web site prep.fsm.edu.tr. As attendance is taken regularly in our program, our students are required to attend minimum 85% of the classes.

Materials and digital platforms for EPP are as follows.

CLASS MATERIALS

EPP students are required to acquire all course materials (Main Course and Writing books, digital platforms)  till September 17, 2019. They can purchase them at our campus on September 16-17. Digital platforms which student also need can be purchased online.

1.Main Coursebooks

For Elementary level, the book set of 4 modules (including 6 books in total) is 750 TL, for pre-intermediate set of 3 modules 600 TL, and for Intermediate set of two modules is 375 TL.

In Epp pirated books are strictly forbidden and disciplinary actions are taken for those who violate the rule.

DIGITAL PLATFORMS

1. Google Classroom

Google Classroom is actively used in EPP. In order to use this app, our students need to have their student accounts (username@stu.fsm.edu.tr) provided by the university. They may acquire their username and passwornd on https://sifre.fsm.edu.tr.

2. Achieve3000

With Achieve3000, which helps you improve your reading skills through texts tailored for your level individually, you are going to read texts related to your departments and do activities based on these texts during the academic year. Your performance on the activities makes up 5% of your final grade at the end of each module.

After the purchase, you can get your user name and password will be shared with you soon. When you first log into the system, you will be given a placement test. You must finish the test before the start of the second week of the academic year. The test is composed of 40 questions and takes 50-60 minutes on average. Following the placement test, you can start using the platform, reading the essays assigned to you and doing the activities.

3. English Central

English Central is a platform on which you can improve your listening, pronunciation and vocabulary skills through various activities. Your performance on the activities makes up 5% of your final grade at the end of each module.
